"Pole dancing looks amazing!"
"Pole dancers are soo strong and toned"
"Pole dancers are soo flexible"
I'm sure I'm not the only one who's heard people say that they want to start pole!
Here's a few reasons why you should consider starting pole:
It's a great way to become part of an uplifting, diverse and accepting community.
It will help to increase your strength!
Pole helps to build confidence and increase self esteem.
You will learn cool tricks, moves and combos that you could have only thought about achieving in your dreams!
You will become more flexible and overall better your health by become a better mover.
You will learn to master your own bodyweight and increase your body awareness.
You can express yourself and your emotions through movement, dance and/or play.
Pole will help to improve your co-ordination.
Last but not least overtime with continuous grit and determination you will want to develop and work on a healthier, stronger and more confident you! You will develop the 'pole addiction' which is what we like to call it and work towards mastering your goals on a daily basis.
Scared to give it a try? Ate you scared that you won't be very good?
We get it, yes it looks scary, intimidating, difficult, dangerous and impossible! But you must remember every professional was once a beginner, you must believe in yourself in order to achieve greatness.
Just remember that no one is judging you in pole class, the teacher is there to regress movements that you find too difficult and to make your pole experience feel as easy and comfortable as possible, your job is to show up with a positive, open minded attitude and give it your 100%.
If 'starting' is what you find is difficult then I suggest that you read my blog 'I don't know where to start' If you find that it is fear or body image or insecurities that get in the way, I suggest you read my blog on body image and insecurities.
